Friday Industries has acquired a significant stake in leading Thai production company Mbrella Films, strategically backing its role as a premier provider for international co-productions and production services. Mbrella produces films and provides production services across Southeast Asia, with Thailand as its core focus — offering access to rare and diverse locations and studios throughout the region.
The acquisition positions Friday Industries to tap into Thailand’s growing appeal as a production destination, with Mbrella offering access to diverse locations and studios across the region. Under the new arrangement, Mbrella, whose credits include “Hellhound” and “King The Land,” will be able to package tax rebate financing and minimum guarantee financing alongside its full-service production support.
“Thailand is seeing more and more productions every year — costs are very affordable, the locations are incredible, and many producers don’t realize what’s available here,” said Joshua Dixon, founder and CEO of Mbrella. “We have strong government support and great film incentives, it’s the perfect climate for future films and investment. Mbrella has an international executive team led by American producer Dixon, whose credits include “King The Land” and “Hellhound.” Executive producer Adam Pray (“Stranger Than Fiction,” “Khattaf”) and producer Nick Rumpf (Ryan) (“Mission Impossible III,” “Eyes In The Trees”) also serve full-time at the company.
The deal brings Mbrella into Friday Industries’ film network collective, which includes N8 and EST N8. The companies have produced or distributed titles including Michael Mann’s “Ferrari,” “Home For Rent,” “Pabrik Gula” (Indonesia’s highest-grossing 2025 film), Oscar-shortlisted “The Monk and The Gun,” Cannes 2025 Critics’ Week Grand Prize winner “A Useful Ghost,” and Cannes official selection “Kennedy.”

Sean Thongchan, COO of Friday Industries, will join Mbrella’s board as part of the deal.
The move comes on the heels of Friday Industries’ recent partnership with British film financier Goldfinch, which launched a $20 million collateralized credit vehicle for backing film and high-end television productions across the Middle East, North Africa and Asia-Pacific regions.
