Mbrella Films

Film Production Company Chongqing, China

Western China’s most substantial city with close to 16 million people, Chongqing, is a large and engrossing urban sprawl. Chongqing has the third highest population of all the cities in China and is an ultra modern port city. The landscape comprises a combination of sharp hills at the junction of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers and the stark scenery of the Three Gorges downstream.

One of the most visited cities in China, Chongqing is also home to many remarkable historical, cultural and natural attractions that include Dazu Rock Carvings, Ciqikou Ancient Town and the spectacular natural view along the Yangtze River which can be fully appreciated with Chongqing’s cableway. Mandarin Chinese is the native language, however, with the city’s booming economic progress as well as the government’s investments in the film industry’s infrastructure, English has become a more widely spoken language. This means crew leads and members can communicate in English.

In Shanghai, you’ll find a host of ARRI grade cameras, however importing equipment from abroad and neighboring Hong Kong is simple

Video production comes in various forms with each having its own unique purpose. Types of video productions most companies will typically rely on are corporate videos, viral marketing videos and/or television commercials (TVC). These types of videos will expand their brand image and create a deeper audience connection to the products and the company as a whole. Other video productions such as social media and YouTube videos, and event videos also prove advantageous. The size of production can differ considerably with some needing more in depth planning, higher budgets and a larger crew. Crowdfunding videos, for example, will require a more minimal approach. Even so, all stages of production from pre-production to post are set up to tell the best story possible.

Mbrella Films are experts at film and video production with some of our esteemed returning clients including the likes of Apple, Land Rover, Kayak, Nike, Hennesy and GoPro to name a few. We plan each shoot with careful consideration, making sure we cover every logistical detail of the planning stage so that we can ensure the success of every shoot. Recently, the Chinese government has also implemented tax incentives and increased investment in the film and video production industries.

Hongya Cave is an 11 storey stilt house with a rich history of over 2,300 years. Originally a military fortress, it was also the location of the earliest and most developed pier of ancient China and is built alongside a steep cliff on the bank of the Jialing River. The stunning night view is a highlight and should not be missed.

A remarkable fact is that the 1st floor and the 11th floor are accessible by two different roads. There is an elevator stopping at each level where many bars, cafés and restaurants line the floors. The symbolic Hongya Dripping on the 2nd floor is a small waterfall cascading down the cliff’s facade.
